2019 VCAF Summer Arts Camp
In conjunction with Forest Service, Visions of the Wild Festival celebrating the 50th year of Smokey the Bear, our 2019 Summer Arts Camp theme is “Wild Fire”
Children will be learning about fire prevention, seeing its beauty and danger and how protecting our environment prevents fire. In addition to the various media applications such a painting, drawing, clay, mosaics we will be adding drone photography this year.
Children will enjoy field trips and on the last day of camp July 19th there will be an Art Exhibition & Stage Play.
Art work will then go to Vallejo City Hall for an Art Exhibition & Reception.
Open to kids ages 7 – 14
This year we are asking that you please register you child based on age. There are 4 categories, this helps us more closely match kids learning experience to their age.
Tuition $400 includes all materials, field trips, Camp T-shirt and snacks. Children bring their own lunch (due mostly to allergies and personal taste). Transportation will be provided for field trips. CHILDREN MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND ALL 2 WEEKS OF CAMP. Art such as clay and mosaic require multiple days to construct.
Children will be dropped off at base camp for the classes and sign in and out each day. No curbside drop offs or pick-ups. Children must arrive in time for 9AM class; start time (between 8:30 & 8:45). Cell phones will be collected each morning and returned at the end of the day. Parents will have direct contact numbers for the camp counselors if they need to contact their children. We will have a camp counselor and an assistant as well as volunteers to help with the camp.
