2019 VCAF Summer Arts Camp
In conjunction with the Forest Service Vision of the Wild festival, celebrating the 50th year of Smokey Bear, our 2019 Summer Arts Camp theme is Transforming Fire. Children will learn about fire prevention, seeing its beauty and danger, and how protecting our environments prevents fire. In addition to the various media applications including painting, drawing, clay and mosaics, we will be adding photography this year.
Camp attendees will enjoy field trips, and on July 19th, the last day of camp, there will be an art exhibition and stage play. Art work will then move to Vallejo City Hall for an art exhibition and reception.
Open to kids ages 7 – 14
This year we ask that you register your child based on their age. There are four age categories. This will help us more closely match your child’s learning experience.
Tuition is $400, which includes all materials, field trips, camp t-shirts and snacks. Children provide their own lunch (owing to allergies and personal taste). Transportation is provided for field trips.
CHILDREN MUST ATTEND ALL 2 WEEKS OF CAMP. Art such as clay and mosaic require multiple days to construct.
Children are dropped off at base camp for classes and sign in and out each. No curbside drop-offs or pick-ups are allowed. Children should arrive between 8:30 and 8:45am. Classes begin promptly at 9 am.
Cell phones are collected each morning and returned at the end of the day. Parents will have direct contact number for camp counselors should they need to contact their children. We will have a camp counselor and an assistant as well as volunteers to assist with camp. A maximum of 32 kids can be accepted in the program. Only one financial aid package per family is available.
